About

_SYSTEMIC DESIGN METHODOLOGY_

>> Systemic Design is a relatively recent initiative in design discipline that integrates systems thinking and human-centered design, with the intention of helping designers to cope with complex design projects. The recent challenges coming from the increased complexity caused by globalization, migration, and sustainability make the traditional design methods insufficient. Designers need different approaches  to design responsibly and to avoid unintended side-effects. Systemic Design intends to develop methodologies and approaches that help to integrate systems thinking with design towards sustainability at environmental, social and economy level.  <<

 >> Silvia Barbero, is an Assistant Professor at POLITO-DAD, she got her PhD in Productive Systems and Industrial design. She is lecturer of “Product Environmental Requirements” at Design and Visual Communication degree and of “Systemic Design” at Systemic Design Master degree at POLITO. She is also responsible for the stage&job design curriculum and member of the H2020@polito Commitee in Advanced manufacturing and processing. Her research mainly focuses on Systemic Design applied to different sector, with this Research Center she grouped the activities and the researchers working on water design. The activities of this center are carried on by 6 researcher (PhDs and fellows) <<
